WASHINGTON DC - Undisclosed sources report that an investigation has been authorized to locate the distribution network for the manuscript or e-book outlining the belief-system of re-combination or re-dedication which had taken on a cult-like status among several elite special operations military units. In a short period of time the belief has also spread to command and control units in the Air Force and Navy as well as drone operations at C.I.A.
Rumors indicate that graduate students at several prestigious scientific and engineering schools have also been sharing files relating to this philosophy. The investigation pays per diem and is open to all cleared Federal Agency staff and is available for "moonlighters" at C.I.A. and State as well as defense and intelligence contractors.
Life and Death in New Jersey
This is an example of visual and conversational poetry laced with whimsical comedy inside a world constructed of dream-logic.
The narrator watches parts of his life amid the offerings of television. Work, war and the memory of his father compete with an obscure romantic obsession. The television programming within the work adds a 'back-story' in which early mythology and literature are sometimes inhabited by modern persons. This back story represents the narrator’s view of the history of civilization as cobbled together from idiosyncratic TV documentaries. Some viewers will want to see this one again. Original songs by the derelicts and Fire Axe brothers. Some nudity.
"It was December, I think, --I watched television endlessly...and thought about my Dad..."
A Sergeant Speaks
I have led an uneventful life, yet I have cheated death or disaster more than once {as had my father}. I have been offered a table of opportunities yet passed it by. Neither a follower nor a leader I am a Sergeant and your guide. A worthless sinner and an authentic fool I am a traveler with some wisdoms, numerous eccentricities but few bad habits. I reign alone, a servant, between private persons of the low; stand-ins and captains at the head. And this is my book...
How it started
Like I explained, or thought I did, the first assignment came by mistake. Who ever sent the first communication transposed two letters in the email address and, lo and behold, it was mine. I thought it was SPAM or phishing and ignored it for a day. The subject was: ‘New Assignment.’ Finally I read it.... and replied yes. ‘If you’ve changed your hair style, up-load a new passport-photo to...’ Hmmm, what could go wrong? Would they make movie-stars who looked like me?
Chinese Food Dream
The gold-mine on Monkey Mountain was actually a dirt-pit sprinkled with nuggets. Since I was the only one with any recollection of this, it lead to an appointment through the NYSE to the Royal Commissioner or “RC.” Armed with a badge and pistol he claimed it was his purpose to root out insider-trading. I suspected his office was a sham and he himself was deranged but what could I do?
I met the Aztec woman in the decaying courtyard.
This Happens
I read this off the Frag-Wire which is raw data and unreliable:
A small team of enlisted military; maybe four men, one woman went rogue. Using SEAL training they rampaged through a shopping mall. Later, they headed up to a rocky, mountain area where one of them dragged the others on a large flat piece of wood across hundreds of yards of rocky terrain to avoid leaving tracks.
One of them is squat with short blond hair and glasses. Neural-bio efforts to reverse a few ‘gay’ circuits in his head have made him
It pays to be somebody else
My time back in the AF was in Tac Air Control. I didn't have a Combat Controller's badge {or AFSC}, but there must have been a temporary ticket in my file because that's what I was pretending to do, hanging out with the Army and carrying a short-barrel carbine. Though unhappy about my low rank I was thankful of carrying an alias, this time as Johnson; which I thought was a name lacking panache. But a couple of these kid-Rangers
Uncertainty
An Asian invasion of a largely deserted New York City was imminent. I was slowly and haphazardly preparing things for packing and transportation. Several small boxes and cases holding keepsakes or writing or maybe money were opened before a larger box that I intended to put into my car trunk.
Seemed to be in the first floor apartment/flat being shared with other Air Force enlisted men. Joe went uptown to be with his girl friend. Bill who was tall and looked
Notes from the "over-ground"
The semi-Strategic Corporal says:
1.) Any modern war in which Air Power can not play a decisive role is probably a war with dubious goals.
2.) What we call 'counter-insurgency' is either an intelligence & police operation or an exercise in futility.
3.) Taking sides in someone else's insurrection requires native-speaking cadre or an urge to waste yourself.
4.) Gung-ho, Hooah, Boots-on-the-ground, or fighting-to-fight requires low casualty rates {about 2% max} to continue for any length of time; it sharpens the blade as it eventually fatigues the metal.
Doorway Woman
Lawns and homes rolled by framed by the car windows. The light burnished by the dry, comfortable air, was late enough in the day to bring out pastels. The sense of life as an artwork caused a reverie for him. He tilted his head and touched his jaw as if restraining a conversation he could have with someone not present. They stopped at St. Benedict's for a non-denominational service.
