Sergeant Gil C. Cain?

This photo is either Sgt. Gil C. {Clay} Cain or his first cousin Sgt. L. Skeeter Gilhooley. It was Sgt. Cain who said: “If life is a simulation then stick to your own story.” Meaning if comrades and acquaintances go down around you in battle or bad luck, whether in war or life, treat it as part of the fabric of a single-player game and concentrate on your own outcome. Perhaps all consciousness is an intricate fabrication; therefore there are no odds, only the experience before you. Treat the wounded as you wish them to treat you, honor the fallen, but play on as if yours is the only existence.
